Conference 2023

Language and Society

The 2023 Annual Conference of the Linguistic Society of New Zealand was hosted by the University of Auckland.

There was a Māori Language Research Symposium on 28 November 2023, followed by the Language and Society conference on 29 to 30 November 2023, both at the Grafton Campus of the University of Auckland. The Language and Society conference was hybrid with in-person and online options.

20-minute presentation, followed by five minutes for questions.

You must be a member of New Zealand Linguistic Society (normal membership or student) to present at the Language and Society conference. Please ensure that your membership is active – you can register or renew your membership here. This does not apply to the Māori language research symposium.

NZLS covered up to 5 travel scholarships for students flying to Auckland to present their work. Students can indicate on the abstract submission form if they wish to be considered.
